How big of a fan are you?

Well, I was sitting here the other day looking at one of my die cast 29 cars pondering how many of these companies I sponsor.
I came to realize that I actually sponsor very few. Does this make me less of a Harvick Fan? I do not think so, but some might
disagree. I constantly see Dale Earnhardt Jr. fans with cans of Amp or Mountain Dew. Or a Johnson fan telling me they drove
50 miles to a Lowe's rather than shop at the Home Depot down the road because Lowe's sponsors Jimmy Johnson. Talk about loving
your driver. I think in some cases NASCAR fans can be worse than drug addict in their obsessions.
I honestly can not afford to buy the newest Harvick die cast when they come out. Or a new shirt, cap, or bobble head every
year. But I can sponsor Mr. Harvick in my ability to watch and cheer him on in his efforts to obtain a championship. The thrill
of watching him wheel a car or truck to me is sometimes better than wearing my old faded Harvick T-shirt. It is the love of
pure talent that makes me a Harvick Fan. I also admire his Wife DeLana for her drive to form awesome racing teams and not
go to the races to shop. I watch her in the pits cheering for her husband or one of her drivers and see her dedication. Not
like some wives who look bored at the track. The Harvicks have made me the fan of NASCAR that I am today.
I will continue to watch and cheer the Harvicks through good times and bad times in any way I can. But I still can not
bring myself to drink a Coke. So I guess I sponsor the 24 in those efforts. I am a Pepsi girl. I can not use Shell gas in
my Blazer. The truck does not like it. So, we had to sponsor Waltrip with a trip to the local NAPA for a fuel pump. I love
Reese's, but my scale throws a fit when I have had too many. Granted, some days I feel like calling Safety Kleen or Gregory
Poole cleaning equipment when I clean house, but then I realize that I could buy about 1000 T-shirts with the money I spend
on an industrial floor scrubber. I do have a new Jegs catalog sitting on my kitchen table, but honestly it is the old man's.
Puma Shoes are not my thing either. Give me a pair of Wal-mart shoes or my Justin boots and I am happy. I do work with the
veterans through the Legion, so I commend the efforts of VFW racing and their partnership with KHI.
So, basically I am Harvick Fan living on a BAM racing budget. I make every effort I can to sponsor my driver from watching
him drive on Sundays to crocheting a new 29 bedspread for my Queen Size bed without the fan obsession.
